The blood pressure cuff stays on the Mother's arm throughout labor and an oxygen mask is necessary if the baby's heartrate drops which is quite common with epidurals.
Cardiac monitors are attached to the Mother's chest and since she will no longer be able to get out of bed for the remainder of her labor, often times, a bladder catheter is inserted.
